Senior Health Architect and Co-Owner/Director of Silver Thomas Hanley, Basil Vogas offers extensive knowledge and leadership to the design team. Having specialised in health architecture since 1998, Basil offers significant experience across a full range of health projects, each varying in size and requirement.  


Responsible for leading Silver Thomas Hanley project design teams, Basil has a direct responsibility to our clients for all aspects of their project. Most notable is Basils’ genuine interest formulating creative, client focused solutions for complex problems.  It is this interest in combination with delivering outstanding outcomes that has seen him develop long term client relationships. 


Basil has a substantial amount of experience in large-scale health projects. This experience is inclusive but not limited to; 6 new greenfield hospitals and several major brownfield redevelopments such as Harvey Hospital ($15m), Warren Health Service ($42m), Joondalup Health Campus ($400m), Newman Hospital ($33m), QEII Central Energy Plant ($200m), St John of God Murdoch Redevelopment ($200m), and Hollywood Hospital Medical Centre ($50m).

Basil has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills which have been essential to delivering successful projects, particular for his work on major projects for both BMW and WACHS. Having significant knowledge of the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines and being a panel consultant for the WA DoH Licensing Accreditation and Review Unit, Basil is well regarded as an industry expert and advocate for innovation in health architecture.
