NEWMAN HEALTH SERVICE

Designed to meet a wide range of healthcare needs and service options for the community, the redevelopment of Newman Health Service fosters a strong sense of belonging, place, and positive social impact. The vision for the project was to establish an integrated, ‘one stop shop’ Ambulatory Care facility that addresses healthcare concerns while preserving nonclinical support service models.
 

Silver Thomas Hanley delivered a facility that is functionally efficient, respectful of site context and heritage, seamlessly integrated into its surroundings, and reflective of the cultural identity of the Newman community. A prominent roof entry statement, inspired by Mt Newman - a defining landmark in the Pilbara landscape - anchors the new hospital both visually and symbolically.
 

The design prioritised the use of durable, low-maintenance materials that reflect the natural beauty of the region and perform well under harsh environmental conditions. Equally important was the integration of culturally appropriate services that align with community values and traditions.
