Silver Thomas Hanley was engaged to design the Bali International Medical Centre (BIMC) in Nusa Dua, located within the prestigious Bali Tourism Development Corporation precinct. Set on a lush one-hectare site with views over a neighbouring golf course, the hospital was conceived as Indonesia’s first medical tourism destination and delivers international standard healthcare in a resort-style environment.
 

Key design priorities included a compact, efficient building footprint, hotel-quality interiors, and careful integration of discreet patient access for procedures such as cosmetic surgery. The architecture was tailored to meet both Australian clinical standards and local authority requirements, blending function with appropriate regional design language. While Silver Thomas Hanley led the design, construction documentation and contract administration were delivered in collaboration with a local architectural practice.
