Visiting the site today, Mark McGowan said "These forward works will not only create over 70 local jobs by delivering new entrances and car parking, they will let us proceed with the main project.
That will mean an expanded emergency department, new mental health capacity and services, and a new intensive care unit for the hospital.
This pandemic has highlighted just how important our health system is, especially to regional Western Australians."
