As a senior leader for Silver Thomas Hanley with over 20 years of experience, Nathan is at the forefront of current and emerging trends in health facility design, bringing together Architecture that balances form and function with a healing environment for patients, care givers, staff and visitors. Having designed, led and delivered numerous highly regarded projects across healthcare, aged care and education, Nathan prioritises a highly collaborative design process, building long term relationships with clients, contractors and the design teams. With a focus on the technical aspect of construction, Nathan works closely with industry leading construction experts to provide clients with the best possible result for their project, embracing new construction techniques whilst balancing time and cost outcomes.

Working across both metropolitan and regional areas of several states in Australia, geography is no barrier to providing foremost health design solutions for the community. Often healthcare hubs are the heart of the town and provide a key community beacon to residents and visitors alike. Nathan works closely with stakeholders to develop a sense of place and ownership for all users, culminating with the delivery of a lasting community asset. Within the practice, Nathan focuses on delivering the next phase of healthcare leaders through our mentoring program. Nathan works with Silver Thomas Hanley’s graduates and students across all phases of a project, maintaining the practice’s high-quality design and documentation standards through the quality assurance system. As a client, working with Nathan often extends beyond the initial project, continuing the positive and successful outcomes for future projects. As a highly regarded designer and healthcare planner, Nathan partners with clients to understand individual project requirements to deliver large and complex projects with their best interest in mind.
